TS/A
- Main features:
TS/A is a murine mammary adenocarcinoma of BALB/c origin. Early
studies were focused on heterogeneity and metastasis. Now it is a
popular model system for immunological gene therapy (various
transfectants are also available for distribution).
- Culture conditions:
- Medium: Dulbecco's MEM + 10% FCS (some laboratories use RPMI
instead of DMEM).
- Split ratio 1:5 - 1:10. Detach with Trypsin-EDTA for 5' - 6'
at 37°, then stop trypsin with DMEM+FCS and centrifuge.
- Freezing medium: 90% FCS (or NCS), 10% DMSO; cell density for
freezing: 3-4 vials from a confluent 25 cm² flask.
- Thawing: seed one 25 cm² flask from one vial.
